Life Groups are small groups that meet at different times throughout the week.
Most of our Life Groups meet on Sunday Morning. Our Sunday Morning Bible Study (traditionally called Sunday School) meets at 9:00 a.m.
We are planning future groups to meet on Sunday evenings and other times to offer more flexibility in options.
In a Life Group, we deliberately choose to move toward one another, because Jesus is not just saving individuals; He’s building His community. Ephesians 5:25 says, “Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” His dying love for us is why we have life groups every Sunday. It’s how Jesus helps us stop feeling distant. It’s how we open our hearts to one another. For those visiting FBC St. John who have attended the worship service, a small group is a good next step towards deeper involvement. It’s a safe place with zero pressure on anyone. In life groups, our church mission gets traction as we talk together, pray together, and encourage one another to get involved.
Lastly, in a Life Group, we dig deeply into the doctrines of grace as found in the Word of God. Those Gospel doctrines change our hearts, draw us closer to Jesus, and create a Gospel Culture—a culture of humility and honesty, a culture of peace and joy, and a culture of hope and sacrificial love that is embodied in our community and expressed through our lives.
